The Health Professions Data Sharing Network (HPDSN) was started in 2010 to support the data sharing needs of health professions. As a member of this network, you will have easy access to the peer-reviewed literature in your field which is known as HPDSN Knowledge. You can refer to a specific article or browse a complete list of articles from the peer-reviewed literature which are available for free download. HPDSN Knowledge is available by subscription for those who want additional benefits such as advanced search capabilities and no time limit for searches. All members have access to expert-authored tutorials on how best to read and interpret specific articles as well as public health views from an international perspective. HPDSN Knowledge is also available to organizations for their use. Members can use this service free of charge, while organizations need to purchase a subscription. The service is available in three tiers of access: Basic Access, Advanced Access, and Enterprise Access. Search filters are available based on type of organization (public or academic), funding source(public or private) and type of health profession(physician, nurse practitioner or physician assistant). Excelmed on the Web is a project that aims to increase quality health care through the use of cloud computing technology on mobile devices. Excelmed uses mobile devices with web browsers to provide real-time clinical data visualization allowing physicians more rapid access to data. Excelmed is intended to improve the way clinicians think about clinical data. It provides an opportunity to re-examine how clinical data is stored, interpreted and shared with patients, colleagues and decision makers. Excelmed on the Web also assists clinicians in applying quality of care metrics to patient management. This initiative facilitates data sharing of clinical data between health care professionals using their mobile devices, reducing the need for paper documentation, faxing, etc. The Online Clinical Data Exchange (OCDE) was created by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) as a means to increase collaboration between pathologists and laboratories on shared datasets that are used throughout the process of laboratory testing. OCDE helps with rapid exchange of information between pathologists, referring physicians and the laboratory. OCDE provides a medium for communication between pathologists and laboratory staff during the workup of hematopathology specimens. Ocde facilitates the communication process by providing each participant with a secure environment for viewing, annotating and reporting on shared datasets. The Collaborative Knowledge Management Project (CKMP) is a member-driven community that is focused on improving clinical care through shared knowledge management projects within health care organizations. The collaborative projects are created as Google Sites so physicians can share their knowledge to other physicians in their organization, medical students and residents. These projects help with the acquisition of new knowledge, the improvement of existing knowledge and the broad dissemination of knowledge. The CKMP uses SharePoint to create a repository of webpages that are used by clinicians from many clinical areas, from medical students and residents to practicing physicians. Members can participate in SharePoint discussion groups based on their specialty area, participate in Google Hangouts for clinical discussions, participate in podcasts about CKM topics, contribute material to CKM blogs and contribute images to WikiPathways. The projects are designed to improve large group collaboration projects while also building knowledge development teams which use an iterative approach for developing or improving assessments or other clinical presentations. cfa1e77820
